Conference at the IT University10 September 2012
The IT University, Copenhagen Business School, InfinIT, and the Confederation of Danish Industry, ITEK, hosted a conference on 'GLOBAL SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT - The next generation of means and methods' on Monday 10 September 2012 at the IT University in Copenhagen.
The software development practice is undergoing a change, software now increasingly being developed in cross-border global collaborations. A number of Danish businesses are relocating all or part of their software development to other countries. But many studies show that global software development projects - compared to local projects - are more liable to fail due to distances in terms of geography, time and culture that are an impediment to any close cooperation. The conference highlighted the latest expertise within global software development and presented solutions and know-how from a wide spectrum of scientific and commercial experience. There were speeches and panel debates on:
• Strategic outsourcing between India and Europa
• Cultural challenges within global software development
• Experience gained by businesses such as NNIT and Danske Bank
• Global software development methods of Indian businesses such as Tata Consulting Services (TCS)
The conference was based on the research project 'Next Technology for Global Software Development', financed by the Danish Council for Strategic Research.
Participation was free of charge, however subject to a no-show fee.
